Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of The Authority Score™ platform, website, and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Accounts

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password.
• You must provide accurate information at registration and keep it current.
• One person or entity may not maintain multiple accounts for the purpose of circumventing usage limits.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Subscriptions & billing

• Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis through PayPal until cancelled.
• You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current paid period.
• Refunds are governed by our refund policy and applicable law. Trial periods, where offered, are limited to one per user.
• Taxes, where applicable, are your responsibility.

4. Partner & affiliate program

• Partners earn commissions on qualifying referrals as described on the partner portal.
• Commissions are calculated on the net amount received after processor fees.
• Founding Partner status is limited to the first 50 qualifying partners and carries a lifetime recurring commission as described at enrollment.
• We reserve the right to void commissions on refunded, fraudulent, or chargeback transactions.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.
• Attempt to access data or systems you are not authorized to access.
• Scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service except as permitted by law.
• Send unsolicited communications through our email infrastructure in violation of CAN-SPAM or GDPR.
• Resell or sublicense access without written permission.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including The Authority Score™ name, methodology, assessments, and content, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal or professional development during your subscription. Authority Score™, Authority Pillars™, and related marks are our trademarks.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit (assessment answers, posts, profile data). You grant us a license to process that content to deliver the Service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any content you submit.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee specific business outcomes, authority score improvements, or revenue results. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of others' rights.

11. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or for non-payment. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; data is retained per our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in California.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted with an updated "last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
